I visited the farm yesterday to check on plots and stands. I was surprised to see a scrape on the edge of the plot. Had fresh piss in the middle of it too. This is the earliest I've ever seen scrapes; never recall seeing one in bow season before.

Barbour county has 2 ruts, depends if your in the early rut area or could be some bachelor groups busting up claiming their ground,I've had a lot of pics the past few weeks in Monroe county of bucks locked up and there are a few scrapes in the roads, they ain't rutting, just staking their claim

Gobblebox, Barbour county actually has 4 separate ruts. You can hunt a 30 mile radius and be in the rut the entire gun season.

Seen some in Lee and Russell counties. They don't look like rut scrapes though, more like young uns playing.

I start finding scrapes right after the bucks shed their velvet every year.

Yeah I'm seeing them to in Pike. These are scrapes for shure. I have seen them early in other counties as well when working. Could just be staking out territory. Could be the dominate buck saying Hello ladies it's getting close.

It be's that way sometimes.

Piles of them in Jackson Co, believe it or not

What would cause this so early?
