I was out walking around with my little girl earlier and saw a really fresh scrape with tracks in it. Our rut is typically late season and I actually saw two young bucks still running together this morning while I was hunting. Anyone had a similar experience? I know they rut early in Bankhead down the road but I have seen deer chasing in January here before.

From the best info we have around Danville your peak breeding should be mid December. Not unusual at all to see scrapes right now.

here is pic I got from my camera pull today in bullock county. had 5 different bucks hit this scrape since I put camera out on it, all at dark

Anybody seeing alot of daytime deer movement in last couple of weeks.it may just be me but ive hunted hard had 2close calls the first week when the weather was cool.but since the hot weather I have not seen a deer.I get lots of pictures at night so I know there are plenty of deer.I cant put my hand down without touching tracks.I got 2 good 8 pounts comeing at 5:50,almost everyday.maybei will get lucky soon. Good luck

Same here, tons of movement on opening weekend. But the last few have definitely been much slower
