I wasn't going to post this, but decided it might help someone else. My last two checkups at Dr. indicated a higher than normal level of Creatnine in my blood and an EGFR of 53. My conclusion is it all comes from my taking over-the-counter vitamins and supplements. I had been taking them for awhile and mostly at bedtime. That might of had a hand in it too. Maybe I should have taken them spread out more, I don't know. After the first visit to the Dr. that showed the increase, I quit the vitamins and supplements. My next visit showed a minor improvement, but was still at bad levels. I have been referred to a Nephrologist and hopefully with proper and more accurate testing, the damage to my kidneys may not be as bad as the blood work is saying.
I just want to warn people to the possibilities that exist with the taking of over-the-counter supplements. They DO NOT need approval by the FDA before marketing and have been reported to contain odd materials.
Please pray that the accurate tests by the nephrologist do not indicate as bad of damage as the EGFR shows.

Happened to me in my 30's due to creatine supplement. I stopped using it and my creatinine levels returned to normal within 4 -5days of stopping. Doesn't happen to everyone but to some. I think that's why they tell people who use it to drink lots of water. I didn't use Creatine and my levels started being off about a year ago. I was taking mineral supplements like Saw Palmetto, magnesium, L-carnitine, numerous vitamins and others. I also believe that my BPH is not really BPH but from the damage to my kidneys. My getting up in the middle of the night to pee alot all started within a year of my addition of more vitamins and minerals. I do hope it will all work out though...
