How much should a guy expect to pay to join a Club with large food plots and a decent land to hunter ratio that has a high deer density? A place that they can realistically expect to see deer almost every trip and 15-30 deer per hunt not be anything unusual. No 'trophy' Rules and very limited doe harvest. Something simple like a main beam, age, etc criteria to protect yearlings and most 2 yr olds.

My luck has been so bad lately, it could be raining pussies and I'd catch one with a dick broke off in it.

General rule would be $2000.00 to 2500.00.

Depending on location and amenities $2,000 - $2,500 might get you there but my guess is that it will cost more in some areas than others.

I personally know of a few clubs in the $1,500-$2,500 range where you can realistically expect to see deer almost every trip but I don't know of a single one in AL where seeing 15-30 deer per hunt is normal. But I would be interested in finding one where it was normal.

I pay 2000 a year. We have 12 members on 2200 acres in Russell county. I have heard of people paying less and also much more. Generally the more you pay the better the situation gets. Yesterday a friend of mine was telling me about what those clubs on the Mississippi delta are getting around tara and I was shocked. 30,000 a year for dues is unreal to me

Ditto, down to $1100 range with good odds and decent amenities. Don't think 15-30 is an Jackson County thing and that's where I hunt

$2000- $2500 , and if you are joining an established club , don't forget the prior members investment in stands, camp house, tractors etc. everyone else is providing that are not costing you anything.

I would say $2,500+ and most places seeing those numbers are going to restrict buck harvest to some sort of "trophy" type restrictions. If you want to see high numbers two things (not the only things) are laying off the trigger somewhat and low pressure. Lower pressure is aided by less members meaning your dues got to more expensive.

If you're talking seeing 15-30 deer several times during the season, and only limited to avoiding killing 2 year olds ... if you had a decent camp, I would almost say name your price. I think you would have turn people away at $2500 per year. That's assuming little club infighting, fair guest policy, and no other strange things to deal with.

If that's what you have, then you're living the dream that almost no one has.

$600 for the one i'm in. See deer every trip, usually 8-10 in patches.

If I agreed with you, we'd both be wrong.

I think to get what you are talking about with a nice camp house, by the time you add In feed, seed, fertilizer, stands, utilities etc. you are going to be in the $5,000 range.

I'd pay some $ for quality land, a nice camphouse, low hunter to land ratio, VERY limited guest policy (guests hunting is a problem) and a realistic mature buck policy and everyone followed the rules.

If the guest policy is too lenient, hell, I might as well go pay less money for a higher hunter to land ratio with a stricter guests policy.

The benefits of a hunting club should be for its members and its member's family ("of age" and even this number should be limited as you can't have a member with 6 kids that expects all of them to hunt at the same time) and not guests. Some guests is ok but guests hunting should be limited as they have nothing invested.

The ones I know of where you can see that number of deer are $3k plus.

I'd also plan on having some trophy restrictions in almost all of them.

$800

For $800 I can buy a bow and firearm tag in IL, be there quicker than I can be in south AL and see 15-20 on just about every sit, on public land. Add in another $1000 for lodging and food for the season and I'm still less than these prices.

And my chance of shooting one or two bucks over 130" is far higher.

Just my take.

Obviously if I lived farther south of be further from IL but doubt my opinion would change

Back in Texas I would be glad to see this many during the entire season!

yep....as I posted in another thread a day or 2 ago, I saw less than 10 deer last season, bow/gun combined.
