If you are a deer hunter in Alabama, at some point, you will lose a deer. We all know how discouraging that is and want to do everything we can to find that animal! If you lose a deer, or think you made a marginal shot, back out and call in a dog!! That's where we come in... Join Alabama Blood Trailing Network. Locate trackers in your area, get training tips and advice on training your own dog!! Join and add your hunting friends!! They will thank you!! https://www.facebook.com/groups/alabamabloodtrailingnetwork/

North Alabama needs more trackers....apparently we can't shoot worth a chit. If I had a jam up dog, I would do it dang near free.

I've been working with Charlie and he has the nose for it. I stashed 10 bottles of deer blood and 26 deer hooves last season plus some liver.
I started him by sprinkling a trail of blood across the yard and at the end of it putting a hoof, every 5 yards or so I put a piece of liver. He got good at that and I started dropping the liver and spaceing the blood drops out farther. He is not challenged by any of this ... he could be a great tracking dog.
Problem is, he's like our baby son. He lays on the bed between us at night while we watch our shows, we treat him like a baby indoors. This kid is like the son I never had ... I am not sure I want to subject him to the dangers of tracking (rattlesnakes, copperheads, live bucks with antlers getting pissed when he arrives) ...
If I decide not to make him a tracking dog ... uh ... well ... he can catch frisbees like a pro
I don't want to pass quietly into the night. I want to slide in sideways kickin and screamin Life really is awesome ... Soak it up while you can ...

Yeah, I can understand that would get old, but if we had more trackers in each county, people from 300 miles away wouldn't have to call. From where I live I could easily cover Jackson, Madison, Limestone, and Marshall counties, along with Lincoln County, TN.

But most of them would go down the line until someone could come out right then I guess. First question they asked, how much you charge. Second one was when can you be here. I was say where are you from. Mobile they would say. I would tell them I could be there next year.

We have close to 30 trackers in the group and almost 1000 members. Almost every county in the state is covered by atleast one person. Some are covered by multiple people. We need more members and more trackers for sure. You get people all the time wanting you to travel farther than you want to go to track a deer that isn't hit nearly as good as they said but that's part of it. If someone wants me to track a long ways off, I of course can't go, but I have managed to locate someone who can more times than not. Anyone interested in tracking feel free to join the group and message me on fb or on here and I'll add you to the list. The group is for everyone though and not trackers only.

I am a member and I really enjoy the stories...IMO...a hunter should reimburse the tracker for his gas and a stipend for the time he expended on his behalf...this dude drove an hour or more to help you find an animal you consider a trophy. Like Bill Murray in Caddyshack..."How bout a little something for the effort..." and no I am not looking for eternal consciousness...

This is a good Facebook page to be a part of fellas if you think you might ever need a tracking dog. Many of the trackers from all over the state are members that participate regularly. They are very helpful in getting folks in need hooked up with a tracker. The guy I tracked for the other day didn't know how to get in contact with a local tracker other than using the internet to do a Google search. He was able to contact one of the trackers that's a part of the Facebook page and they put the call out. I pulled in his driveway a couple hours later. Its a very good group.
