So for a month now something has been in our walls and earting our dog food. We would wake up in the morning and the whole bowl would be empty. One night the dog was in the bed and we could here something walking through the house and eating the food. My wife jumped up and looked cause I was so tired I thought I was dreaming and a rat standing over the bowl eating. It turned looked at her bowed up and walked off like nothing ever happened. We put out sticky traps mouse traps and even those big daddy rat traps and nothing. I poisoned the hell out of some dog food and put it under the house (a few gallons worth) and it was all gone. Something continued to eat the food! I did it again and all the poison and food is gone. The other day I sat down to take a dump and whatever it was tried to come through the wall at me. I can't even pop a squat in peace in my own house. I figured some one might get some joy out of the misery I've been in. But seriously what in the hell is in my house

Put some PB in the middle of the glue traps and on any other traps you have. Chipmunks, tree rats, and rats will all tear it up. Just a heads up though, a chipmunk on a glue trap is like your own pinball machine. the other problem is when they get hungry they are going to chew on wires in your walls and set you up for a house fire.

We have putt put peanut butter on all the traps we have put dog food on all of them whatever it is is smart we left the traps out for 3 weeks now

Find where hey are coming in at and set them so they have no choice but to land in one. It's science!

Trim the edges of the glue boards off where there is no glue. Align them so there is no path around the food bowl that does not have glue. I've had to do this to catch smart mice

Eating that much makes it sound like a coon. Its gotta be coming n going somewhere...sounds like you need to find it's door.

I was going to say opossum too. I'd get a catch'em alive trap. Put the only bait there. Its the best way to find out what it is.

Setup trailcam on dog food, do this for a week and don't disturb it. Review game cam, pattern said poison consuming guillamonster, sit and wait with a 22lr rifle (or larger caliber depending on results of game cam pics.)

I would get one bad A$@ CAT, one with attitude. One that even don't like you, half wild, leave him in the cage, turn him loose in side the house, attic or wherever, while you and the missus go stay the night somewhere.

You beat me to it Dk - I was going to say that he needs to set up with a .22 Short at the far end of the hallway from a fresh bowl of food. Have a sink light (or something dimly lit) back behind the bowl a ways away. Make sure your end of the hall is dark (your in a ghillie suit, btw). When the intruder step out he'll be hesitant at first - probably not his first rodeo (don't tell the wife that). Give him time. He'll get a little over confident, and that's when you bust him. I recommend you go for the head shot. That way you achieve the now-infamous "bang flop" and (more importantly) the intruder doesn't get back inside the wall before expiring.
