central ala,
No problem!!

AUBURN -- Auburn's defensive game plan against No. 13-ranked LSU starts and ends with Leonard Fournette.

"The challenge is just to stop No. 7," Tigers safety Rudy Ford said.

Mississippi State couldn't do it last week as Fournette rumbled for 159 yards and three touchdowns in LSU's 21-19 win over the Bulldogs. So No. 18 Auburn, which is allowing an average 199.5 yards on the ground, should have its hands full Saturday in Baton Rouge -- or not.

"That shouldn't be difficult (or) that much of a challenge" Ford said. "We've got a great front seven and even on the back end, we're all going to be ready to tackle, but our biggest thing is our energy level. Soon as we get off that bus, we're ready to attack. Don't take anything lightly. We all got to be ready to go."

Attaboy Rudy. Maybe #7 won't step on his chest as he runs over him.

All I could hear as I read this was the chant from the movie, "Rudy."

Ruuuuu-dy, Ruuuuuu-dy, Ruuuuuu-dy.

Bet LSU has this posted in their locker room and will be reading it all week. Thanks for the words of inspiration, Mr. Ford.

Rudy is a good kid. Coached him in both football and baseball in high school. Pretty sure he is just trying to be a leader for the defense.

We're going to get the snot beaten out of us. Unless Gus pulls JJ, our season is over. Pitiful. Good luck to Bamma. They look good.

They definitely have the depth and talent they are just banged up and many of the starters are sidelined. I think getting a healthy Tray Mathews back will be huge and if the front seven can stay healthy they will be fine. I think they give LSU all they can handle on the defensive side Saturday. If the offense continues to struggle then it's going to be a long season for the Tigers.

There is nothing about that D line that looks like they have the talent or depth to give LSU / Fournette anything to worry about. Even if they do manage to trip him up that offense is offensive. The corndogs seem to have a strong run defense and that's not the barns strength. The corndogs might be susceptible to the pass but can JJ exploit a weakness with a weakness?

I disagree wholeheartedly. Given that Mathews and Lawson are healthy enough to play then I believe our defense stacks up just fine. Lawson and Adams may be the 2 best players at their position in the SEC. Auburn's defensive problems have been more around containment on the outside and one on one pass coverage.

Thus far the auburn Muschamp defense looks a lot like the florida Muschamp defense, screams like Tarzan, plays like Jane. It's gonna get worse.

So Auburn looks like last year's nationally ranked #4 defense? Cool.

I think Miles loosens the reigns on Harris this week. Otherwise,
Auburn loads up the box.

Whatever it's "ranking", it looks more like this defense...
