Good evening----

I have recently joined a new club that will be setting up camp on the property. Currently, there is only a gravel pad and there is no water, electricity or other utilities on site.

I have heard there will be up to 7 travel trailers that will be brought into the camp area.

I am curious if anyone can share some ideas, tips and thoughts on how to best set up camp...

For example:

1. create in a semi circle or have the campers set up in a single file line

2. have central camp fire / congregation area

3. have an area for generators to be placed to help limit noise coming from one place or keep them beside each camper?

4. how do clubs establish bathroom facilities--dedicate one area or just go where you want too....

Sorry for the basic questions, but i am just curious what others have established in their camps..

Thanks

First 3 will take care of their self. Number 4...ever heard of an outhouse? First 3 will be an ongoing thing. Folks will change whatever don't work till it does work for them. There will be a big fire/gathering place that is just natural its gonna happen thing. Nobody want to hear a generator before 10:30 am or after 4:00 pm either.

I wouldn't want to hear a generator, period. The point is to get away from all the noises, surely somebody could do without power for a few days. An outhouse is definately in order, if not don't be surprised if the next time you go out into the woods to take a leak, you step in a pile of old Joe's crap.

We used to have an old shootn house for an outhouse.......with a 5 gal bucket underneath a piece of plywood with toilet seat on top. Had a roll of garbage bags next to it so when u went, change the bag. Worked like a charm but damn that seat was cold sometimes.

we have been roughing it for 5 years, no electricity, water. 2nd year erected an outhouse best thing we did. Last year got a basic solar system with 2 12 volt batteries, enough electricity to run our 24" flat screen. By the way we got a tent and buddy propane heater. Very peaceful no noise(generator) very limited on light but the stars make up the difference. Light a fire, something to drink (what ever your poison) don't get much better
