This is about at we got to work with on Wedowee. But about 3 more weeks and it's gonna be right. You got to put that jig under the dock, through them small holes. And it needs to go all the way to the back. In his bedroom. smile water temp is 85-87 still warm

That's a good looking dock to shoot. Slim chance I'd make it under there, but I'd beat it to death trying.

I still haven't perfected this method. My "shots" go everywhere. frown

I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

Same here! I can hear me bouncing lead off of it.

aight....one of y'all give me the dumbed down version of what, exactly, it means to "shoot docks". I mean, I get that you're trying to get the jig way up under there, but how do you go about actually doing it?

You hold the jig in your hand, bow up the rod, them shoot the jig under the dock. Do this with a spinning rig. Takes a little time to learn, kinda time fliping.

yep. I let the jig fall to about 2/3 of the way down my rod, pinch the line coming off the reel with your right hand like you would to cast. I grab the jig with my left hand on the head and pull it back until my rod bows, generally the jig ends up around level with the reel seat. Let the line go when you flick the jig, point your rod tip where you want the jig to land. I find it is a good technique for casting a jig anytime I don't have a lot of casting room. I don't often have to shoot under docks that low though.

Flip tha bail of your reel and keep line on your finger like a cast. Trick is timming the release of the line just a split sec from letting the jig loose. I pinch the bottom of the hook. Otherwise it can end up in your finger.... wink

I grab the jig head and pont the hook toward the target. (In front of the fingers) Almost impossible to put the hook in you then. I say almost, I'm sure it could still happen.

No doubt that I could aim one under that triangle to the left of the light and get a good hook set on that yellow square tube up there.

Never fished on Lake Wedowee, always heard it is a good crappie fishery. Love shooting some docks though!!!! Nothing better than that THUMP! I fish Neely Henry and Weiss. Sure wish somebody would take me and show me the ways on Lake Wedowee. smile
