I've never used those specific models, but I've used enough commercial mowers to know that they are all pretty well built.
I'd base my decision on which brand had the better dealer backing it. A good dealer can make or break your experience with a mower.

I have owned an Exmark and my son has owned a Scag for a commercial lawn business. With that said, the best I have ever owned is a Kubota z. It is shaft driven. I haven't made any repairs on it other than regular service. One other note, the seat on these mowers are back killers. You sit right over the engine and back wheels. I just installed a new seat from Northern tools that has lumbar, shock absorption, arm adjustments etc. I was going to the chiropractor once a week from just riding a mower. They will beat you to death without that upgrade. Maybe they have started putting better seats on the newer ones. If you haven't ridden the new Exmark suspension seat with rubber isolator mounts then you don't know what you're missing. World of difference

X mark is a very hard mower to beat. That is the commercial mower of choice here in North Alabama.
I can't stand a thief.

My bro in law has a Bush Hog 61" cut with the 25 hp kawasaki engine,it is a beast,my yard is around 2.5 acres of Bahai grass and I can cut it in an hour and it will scalp it.I don't know how fast it will run but I'm guessing 12-14 mph,it was a demo model with around 50 hours on it when he bought it,sticker price was around 12k and he got it for 6k, it has 600+ hours on it now and is just as tight as it was the day he bought it,I'd buy one without thinking twice about it

Thanks for all the replies. I had decided to go with the exmark since it seems most are having good service from them. Then I stopped at the Kubota dealership today for a set of filters for a tractor and now Im considering a Kubota diesel ztr.

Thanks for all the replies. I had decided to go with the exmark since it seems most are having good service from them. Then I stopped at the Kubota dealership today for a set of filters for a tractor and now Im considering a Kubota diesel ztr. Love the kubota. It is a very comfortable ride and the diesel motor that comes with it has a ton of power behind it. Scag is still my favorite mower to be on due to the fact that the one I've been on has lasted forever without any major problems. Not the most comfortable ride in the world but it can cut the hell out of some bahia.
