They had one in Oxford while I was in school at Ole Miss called the Rebel Barn. At the time, you could not buy cold beer in Lafayette county MS, so in the winter time, Rebel Barn had the only cold beer in town. You could pull in with a cooler in the back, and they would pack it and ice it down for you. That was the only one I've ever seen, and it has since closed down. The Rebel Barn was still open when I was in school and it was just as you described. It turned into a restaurant when I was in graduate school. It has been a few different restaurants, and now I think it is a barbecue place and they have a crawfish trailer out front during the spring. There used to be one other beer barn that I knew about and it was down in Magee, MS off Highway 49 but it's now a hardware store I believe.

They have them in New Orleans. I remember getting a mixed drink at a drive thru. Styofoam cup with lid. Straw was not in drink and a sign said not to insert straw into cup until you were at your destination, (not while driving).
Yeah... that probably was not what happened.
