What county? I know Pleasant Hill in Dallas County but not Ararat.

Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

There are some good deer in the area. Deer population is decent. Plenty of steep hills in the area also, better start exercising.

Depends. An occasional 120 inch buck is considered big there. I hunt on pleasant hill and love it, but I wouldn't consider it giant buck territory.

Good to know. I've killed alot of 120 inch deer and for that part of Al I think that is about average. My opinion if I can out smart an old mature buck and see a little bit of success from alot of hard work ill be happy. I'm not really big on the score of deer I just want them to be mature.

I agree. If you don't mind me asking, where abouts are you. I am about 3 miles north of where ararat splits off pleasant hill.

Im in two clubs off the Ararat Rd. One is right on the river and flat swamp bottom. The other is across the road from it and is bad hills and hollows. Both have real good deer hunting. We have strict rules on what can and cant be shot and for the most part our neighboring clubs do to. Last year between the two clubs we had 4 bucks killed over 125".

Our lease is off of Gibson road, east of Ararat, pretty hilly but looks like the property has got some potential so we will see. I'm gonna put out some cameras this week to see what we got.

You are not far from our club then. Should be a good area. We have plenty of deer. And a few good ones each year go down.
