a soil test is definitely the place to start, i do soil tests and ammend as nessicary fall and spring, ive not had tons of luck getting brassicas to produce tonnage here due to browse pressure, but they grow like mad inside enclosures, thats why i reccomended them if your having trouble drawing deer, assuming your soil is right. And the winter peas they grow great for me, but the deer dont give them a chance. if i had a field i thought they would let mature id plant alot more of them in my mixes

I live and hunt this area, the same land for 30+ years now. It has nothing to do with the geography. Some years are just better for seeing deer in plots than others. I haven't figured out all the variables on that yet, but pressure is probably the most important. Soil test and do it right and it will eventually work.

Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.
