it always helps but i usually start early spring, they will certainly hammer them now though, especially the protien as natural browse dries and becomes less palatable i really see an increase in protien pellet consumption, right now they are eating about 1000 lb a week on 155 acres so it assume its making a diffrence, especially for those that survive till next year. for me its a year round thing, and from my research im told it should take 3 years to notice documentable results, im on yr 3 and it seemed to me that stuff was better last year, even my management bucks are starting to look good to me now days. ive got some dang mountable sixes walking around.

WoW! That seems like a lot. How many feed stations? Just pellets or mixed with corn?

Way I understand, antler growth is like compounding interest, the later it is the more it grows. It accelerates later in the growth period till about 3 weeks before velvet shedding. Last 3 weeks or so is the hardening phase.

That's pretty impressive considering my old boss didn't feed that much protein on 1700 acres a week.

Would walk over a naked woman to get to a gobblin turkey!

I have got to call BS on this. I don't feed that much to 20 head of cows a week. How old are you kid? Maybe you got you numbers mixed up??

2 dogs, I like your answer! I've not a couple of decent 8s on a 5 acre plat, not shooters yet but hopefully by the velvets gone.
