I don't see anything unusual. Young deer and busted up deer.

He only has one side. Talked to a guy on the hunting club our land connects to and he said that deer has bad genes. Also said he has always had one side. Also told me there are a family of them type of deer running around on that mtn. I'm gonna try to get him this year if he crosses my path.

You're wasting your time, if you're trying to change the genetics in a free ranging herd. The best thing to do is shoot what makes you happy and don't worry about what it will score.

I'd be willing to bet he's got an injury to his pedicle and skull. It ain't genetic. It's damage, and sometimes it never heals leading some folks to think it's a genetic problem. Either way he's mature. Kill his butt.

Why feel sick over a half racked deer? Just go hunting and have fun...

The biologist on RSA told me that once a buck damages his peticle he'll never grow that side of his rack back coreectly again. Certainly would seem that's what happened here.

Personally, I feel that bucks in Madison county have fine genetics (see pic below my name! grin ). thumbup
