I found what I thought was volunteer squash sprouting beside my garage and put them in the garden. Vine and leaves look exactly like squash. Yellow flowers like squash but this is what it's growing.

Looks like maybe a spaghetti squash

Never been a spaghetti squash at my house until last week. I agree that's what it looks like though. They were growing between house and garbage cans about twelve of them. I assumed they got dropped while garbage was being taken out.

i have some gourds growing that look like that started like a squash plant then started making long runners, seems to like fertiliser.

I'm thinking maybe gourd. I tilled up the ground to plant sod and that's when these volunteers came up. Might have been dormant for years and the tilling caused them to sprout. Also could it be from store bought squash that is infertile and all it can do is make a gall and no actual squash?

Looks like a gourd to me also.

Whatever it was it fell off today. I was wondering if it was pumpkin guess I'll never know now.

I'd hate for my punkin to fall off.
