Has anybody ever tried it? I almost pulled off the road the other day to do it. My cousin swears he does it every time he gets a chance, says it's hilarious... And that he kicked one over a power line one day. 3 points

Me and jbatey have a uncle who introduced it to us about the age of 10-11. I remember the first night he did it.

It was about 2am, we left mud creek from catfishing and he was blasting beastie boys in his big old car. We seen a possum, he slammed the brakes, bailed out, ran it down and kicked the bastard right in the ass. Funniest thing I'd ever seen.

We used to do it at night at Guntetsville Dam back in our teenage years. They'd be everywhere! I got older and realized I'd rather keep my feet and ankles in one piece.

As far as kicking one over a powerline, I'm calling bs.

I wouldn't risk a porcupine... Possum however, seems like it would be hilarious.
Good story Batey, funny mental image. Guess I'll have to give it a go.
Any special possum kickin shoes recommended... I'm thinking steel toe or crocs

Probably didn't clear the line, but I'd piss myself from laughing if I saw it in person

In my younger days I was led to believe they play dead as soon as you kick them so one night while riding around we saw one and I had to try it. I sent one on a ride about three feet high and about ten feet long. He came down showing teeth and hissing.

Last and only time I tried it.

Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

I had a buddy of mine that kicked one at our camp house in Greene co. one night when we got in from turkey hunting. When he kicked it, dang babies flew everywhere! Felt bad for a second or two, until I remembered they're just a bunch of nest robbing bastards. Kicking them is a blast. Better wear steel toes if you kick one on the half shell though!

Me and a buddy walked up on one and he kicked the crap out of it. It was hilarious but I had no idea it was what you are supposed to do

Kicked an armidilla before. That's a possum on a half shell. They are solid little creatures.

The first armadillo I ever saw, this was in the mid 70's, was sitting on his butt eating something. I had on steel toe boots and I thought, "I'll just kick your dang head off". I eased up to him and kicked as hard as I could and almost broke my dang foot. It was like kicking a lightered stump. My foot turned purple soon afterwards. Armadillo ran off.

I've enjoyed a possum kickin or two.

I'm cracking up with a mental image of someone kicking a possum and it literally going up and over a power line.

A buddy of mine did it one night to prove to me that they would "play possum". That sumbitch rolled, jumped up and chased my buddies big ass clean across a field.
