I'd recommend staying away from Ascend. I've never personally owned an ascend sit-on-top kayak but I have a few friends that do, they have a problem leaking in the scupper seams after only a few trips. I currently own an Ascend sit-on-top and have taken it through the bay area and ocean multiple times without any problems or leaks. Some might be better than others but I don't know. I would recommend the Ascend sit-on-top. It paddles excellent and I believe the seats they offer in them can't be beat (I've spent a whole day in one with no back problems). The only downside in my opinion is that it is a very heavy Kayak and also the front storage is difficult to reach but, the rear storage is big enough for most medium sized coolers, tackle boxes,etc...

I have an Ascend ordered from Bass Pro. Reading the reviews on youtube, ect they recommend sealing the scupper holes and you have a great Kayak. Mine should arrive Friday. I bought the 12 foot. You will enjoy it. I have the 12 ft sit-on-top fishing kayak. Have had it for 2 years now. I think the design has changed since I've had mine.

Check out the Ride Max 115 Angler. I love mine. I'm 6'03" 290 lbs and can stand up in it. You won't beat the seat in them.
