Since I'm heading to Kansas later this year to try to kill a wallhanger I'm trying to find the best Kansas forum and ask the locals some questions. Do any of y'all have a Kansas website that you can recommend? I've signed up at the Bowsite forum but that thing is prehistoric.

I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

Maybe just post some questions on archery talk and ask for pm responses?

Duck hunting chat and the refuge both have state sub forums that you could probably post in and find some bowhunters amongst the duck hunters.

I can tell you that the Kansas guys will not help you much. They do not care for non resident hunters. I lived in central kansas for 5 years I may be able to help.

I tried the bowsite.com forum before I started going a few years back and like boy47 says they pretty much told me to stay outta Kansas and hunt my own state. They hate non residents! A local guy reached out to me on a private message and honestly it started a friendship that would be hard to duplicate. I've been up there hunting with him for the last few years and was lucky enough to kill a gross Booner last year. He's brought his family down here 3 or 4 times to vacation with my family. I've learned alot from him and he's learned a little from me. I will also be willing to help you any way I can. My question to you is did you draw a tag? Because there were double the applicants that applied this year compared to last year. I've got buddies of mine that go hunting out there that didn't draw this year.

They don't like NRs for sure. They say we destroyed the hunting in the entire state.

Don't worry about it if your dates are between Halloween and nov 18. Get on a trail and wait. Mornings are far better than the evenings.

Yes, I have my tags and license. Any input is most appreciated.

Hunting in KS isn't real hard once you find the deer. I always had really good luck hunting the wooded draws during the rut mid-day. The hardest part for me hunting out there was learning how to hunt semi-flat very little trees terrain. The two best options are lock-on stand or a blind. Climbers do work however it is hard to find a straight tree where you need it. Calls and scents work out like no place I have ever seen. If you have or can find a contact out there don't go until they start seeing deer killed on the roads. Once you hear the deer are getting ran over get there and get there quick. You will not go wrong with the dates of Halloween to about 14 Nov.
