Not at all. Just more organization and less sifting through the 20-1 freshwater posts to saltwater posts. It seems to work pretty darn good on GON forum. Guess the same reason you have a sub category for Deer hunting Hog hunting and Turkey hunting

haleyville al,
You may have answered your own question. 20-1 on a forum that gets around 30 post a day

Do that and next thing you know someone will want a northern Alabama section and southern alabama section, inshore section and offshore section, separate sections for different species, etc. The fishing forum just doesn't get the traffic the others get to warrant separate subforums

Well in regards to your comment hunting is split into 8 different categories. I am pretty sure a saltwater thread would get way more hits compared to rabbit and squirrel page. I would also bet that it would get more then 11 threads in 30 days

My vote is for two categories. What's with all the hostility?

The "salt water types" are ALOT wealthier and don't wanna scrub shoulders with the lowlife freshwater guys. Trust me!

I feel confident the "bassholes" do not want to associate with saltwater folks or anyone with a motor less than 200hp laugh

What an ignorant statement. You ever been to a boat ramp and seen it stacked full of New trucks and $50k bass boats.
