But I always get excited when I find a good site that is not disturbed so I can carefully excavate it and put together a good picture of what life was like a long time ago. I have found some really neat individual things, but in the big picture they are just things and only a part of the overall story. When you spend an entire hot Summer digging something like this by hand its very rewarding to be able to put together the story of what life was like back then. Finding artifacts in-situ and exactly how they were left 2500 years ago is always cool. That is when this site and point date to. Never Trust Government "You can be broke but you cant be poor." I used to "arrowhead hunt" with my dad when I was young and we (mainly he) had bucket fulls of what we called back in the 1970's flint and pottery. He passed away a couple of months ago and it has for some reason raised my interest in trying to get involved in this again. I would love to see some pictures of the things that you have found. I'm sure that others would love seeing them also.
