We had about 2 hrs of training. 10 laps as passenger then 20 as driver. Went 168 mph the instructor said.

My dad did it at Talladega several years ago... My mom gave it to him for an anniversary gift(10 laps).... We went and watched it and it was bad ass... He averaged 161mph with top speed of 183mph.... I keep waiting for the wife to do it for me.... My hints don't seem to be working....

the link is misleading...they weren't doing a nascar type deal - it was basically a track session in an exotic car (in this case, a Lamborghini). dude lost control and hit a guard rail

And driving a dumbed down, restricted, ragged out exotic wouldnt be near as much fun as the NASCAR thing. Even though Im sure they are toned way down too.

I did a ride-along at Daytona when I was 13 or 14...think we hit low-170's.
I started getting light headed in one of the turns....finally realized it was because I wasn't breathing. I had to literally tell myself to breathe. very cool experience. would love to drive one one day

I thought I was hauling ass when I did mine at Dega too til the instructor reached over and pushed my leg down to go faster. I too didn't breathe for at least a lap. Most drawed up I've ever been but after 10 or so laps I freed up and just drove. We got to draft and pass. It was right after my daughter had been born and all I could think at first was don't get yourself killed in this heap of metal.

I did the Dale Jarrett experience at Talladega also. I thought they put allot of time in planning the entire experience. It felt like I was flying down the backstretch at 165mph, then I was passed by an instructor that had to be hitting the upper 180's. I needed a beer when my laps were up. They have a sign on the fence to remind you that state troopers will not be impressed that you just ran Talledega, if you speed on the interstate. Sixty five mph felt like 25.
