Any of you ever done it? I did the one in Atlanta about 9 years ago. My wife and a few of my buddies wives surprised us with this as a Father's Day gift. I've been thinking about doing it again soon. I don't watch nascar but love driving fast. I hope to do the Daytona track next time. The bigger the track the faster they will let you drive.

Is that the 1 where you have the half day driving class THEN they let you drive a car? How much does it cost? How fast does the car go? Sounds interesting

We had about 2 hrs of training. 10 laps as passenger then 20 as driver. Went 168 mph the instructor said.

Yeah the class wasn't very long. I had top speed and fastest lap in my group. My top speed was only 142mph. They wouldn't let me go any faster. I was told the bigger the track, the faster they let you go. It was damn FUN!

My dad did it at Talladega several years ago... My mom gave it to him for an anniversary gift(10 laps).... We went and watched it and it was bad ass... He averaged 161mph with top speed of 183mph.... I keep waiting for the wife to do it for me.... My hints don't seem to be working....

I did the one at Mobile International Speedway. Size of the track may affect the speed they let you run but it was still a LOT of fun.

The only caveat is DO NOT do the smallest package available (whatever size that is). The one we did they were shuffling people in and out as fast as possible and had 4 of us on the track at the same time. You only got to run flat out a lap or two. Then you had to give way to the guy behind.

My wife bought it for me as a gift off some coupon website and there were WAY TOO MANY packages sold for that track and the cars they had available. I WILL do that again somewhere sometime. Talladega, Atlanta, some decent size track with a lot of laps package.

It was fun, but the way it went down when I did it only served to show me how much more it could have been had we not bought the Wal Mart package.

I would do it again on the same track tomorrow if I could be the only car on the track and have a decent time to run (40-50 laps on a small track like that).

The one we did was either Rusty Wallace or Dale Jarrett sponsored (named, whatever)

It's awesome. I did the one where you can pass, I think it was Richard Petty.

I won a Richard Petty driving experience years ago and let my husband use it. He loved it!

Correct. And driving a dumbed down, restricted, ragged out exotic wouldnt be near as much fun as the NASCAR thing. Even though Im sure they are toned way down too.

Wife gave me six laps at the Dale Jarrett driving experience at Talladega, It was the most awesome/terrifying thing I've ever done.

I think my top speed was 168. this is the one where there is an instructor riding with you and you don't have to do all the class time.

I did a ride-along at Daytona when I was 13 or 14...think we hit low-170's.

I started getting light headed in one of the turns....finally realized it was because I wasn't breathing. I had to literally tell myself to breathe. very cool experience. would love to drive one one day

I thought I was hauling ass when I did mine at Dega too til the instructor reached over and pushed my leg down to go faster. I too didn't breathe for at least a lap. Most drawed up I've ever been but after 10 or so laps I freed up and just drove. We got to draft and pass. It was right after my daughter had been born and all I could think at first was don't get yourself killed in this heap of metal.

I did the Dale Jarrett experience at Talladega also. I thought they put allot of time in planning the entire experience. It felt like I was flying down the backstretch at 165mph, then I was passed by an instructor that had to be hitting the upper 180's. I needed a beer when my laps were up. They have a sign on the fence to remind you that state troopers will not be impressed that you just ran Talledega, if you speed on the interstate. Sixty five mph felt like 25.
