The ACES Gardening Guide recommends planting between March 15 to June 1. Last year we planted 1/2 acre of Silver Queen and a 1/2 acre of Truckers Favorite on May 22 and got a pretty good stand and yield.

It's time to plant, right now is the best . Get it in the ground this week. It will get ready around the middle of June.

I would plant about half of your area and then in about two weeks plant the rest. Then all of it isn't ready at the same time and you have a better chance of hitting the rain.

Silver queen is pretty good, but I plant G-90 now. It's da bestest.

I'm planting as soon as it dries out enough. Planned on planting today but the rain last night is gonna delay me some. We planted peaches and cream last year and I decided to go back to silver queen this year. May have to try some G-90 too!

TR, the G90 is a lot like Peaches and Cream except the stalks don't blow over nearly as bad. The kernels don't get overly firm as fast as P&C either.

I went with the G-90. With my work schedule and all the rain I finally got it planted this afternoon. Thanks for all help y'all.

We haven't planted ours yet. Too many irons in the fire. You guys can just mail me some G90 when it's ready.

Where do we mail to? Thanks for the suggestion on the G90. Best crop of corn I've had since I was a kid.

thumbup

You gonna shuck it and silk it for me too? LOL

I love the taste of the G90. It's got the same taste of other bicolor corn, like Peaches and Cream but it has a much stronger stalk. The years that we've planted P&C, we've had problems with it blowing over.
