That sux. There's usually always some dock flotation out there somewhere. It's harder to see now that most of it is the black encapsulated type. As fast as those guys go you would be on top of it in no time

I have had the pleasure of hitting a low floater at smith. My son and I were on the main channel running @ 50 and it felt like we went over a speed bump. Stopped and trimmed the motor up to find the anti cavitation plate on the port side of the motor was completely torn away from the foot. Could have been much worse. Prayers to these guys for a speedy recovery

I've seen logs floating on the Sipsey main channel between Corinth and Houston rec areas. Some some last week right out from our cabin.

I hit a submerged log in Town Creek a couple of weeks ago. Scared the crap out of me but I haven't been able to find any damage. I was running about 40mph.
I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

Wiley I hit a huge log about 90% submerged on smith one time. It was the ride of my life and scared the crap out of me. I couldnt find any damage either but a month or two later I was running the river channel and my shaft broke. It had been twisted and was about 60% sheared from an old crack during the impact. You may want to drop that lower unit.

I know this is going to make some mad, but impose a speed limit on the lake. I see these nuts all the time on Logan Martin, running 70 m.p.h. at night, in a bass tourney. I am afraid to anchor out and night crappie fish, unless I am close to an island or the shore. A few years ago, a bass boat ran over a pontoon and killed a woman on it. He was going about 60 when he hit the pontoon. I have had tournament fisherman run within mere feet of my boat before, at breakneck speed. So you're in favor of more government regulation? sounds like the answer to me. And as an FYI I don't own a fast bass boat. I have a Basstracker that runs 33 on a good day

I fish a lot at night and run slowly and always have a spot light. Most dangerous thing I see in night tournaments are drunks in pontoon boats with no lights. I will never run 70 at night that is just stupid.
