I don't lease from them but I do have an easement across them to some property I own. Union Camp was great to deal with. IP was horrible and ended up in court. They weren't happy with the outcome and got embarrassed. They don't really like me. grin These same people moved over to RMS. I'm going on Rebelman's word and hope Potlatch bought it.

Call Potlatch with your info. They have been good to work with in the past.

Call your RMS lease manager. He/she will be able to verify if your club is on land sold to Potlatch.

We have one small RMS lease, how much of a pain in the butt and expense will it be to incorporate a hunting club in Alabama?

Very little trouble or expense. I assure it is worth it if you ever find yourself in a lawsuit and you are the president of the club.

I read potlatch bylaws and they do allow dog hunting. But the better news is they didn't buy any of our hunting land. So it doesn't matter either way. If you want to call them they will let you know what tracts of land they have purchased. Alot of the land was central Al and north Al.

Use of dogs should comply with Alabama Game & Fish Commission regulations. Here is the law it self straight out of the book from there bylaws.

What county is your RMS lease in?

This ^^^ is the part you seem to be missing kdunn.

Bylaws could be changing. Leases are handled differently in different territories too, at least it was that way when I was in that business.

Well, I need to go to town one day this coming week. I'll stop by their office and ask my questions and about dog hunting.

I will say I grew up dog hunting and I loved it but when ip stopped dog hunting I started stalk hunting and I love chasing trophy whitetails I really enjoy it. I have been in some good stalk clubs over 15 years that was alot of fun but I have 3 young kids that I want to get into hunting and from my experience so far kids enjoy dog hunting more than sitting in a shooting house for hours. I feel like my kids should have a voice in what they want to do whether that be stalk hunting or dog hunting. I don't care how you take a kid hunting just take them so we have a next generation of hunters that will keep family tradition and a way of life alive.
