I've bought probably 8 sets of tires for my trucks. Every time I've bought the next larger size than stock. This time I'm really thinking about going back to a stock tire size. My truck is a 2013 f150. I'm not really fond of less gas mileage and my gauges being off...not to mention the additional cost of the tires themselves.

What size tires do yall go with?

I've always thought that the auto companies put tons of time and money deciding what size tires works best on a vehicle. I try to stay very close to the stock size that came on the truck. Over aggressive and tall tires put more pressure on the drive train and affects control as well as ride comfort.

265/70/r17 on a 2010 Tahoe 4x4. Didn't go up in size, but went from 21 mpg to 17 mph when I changed from stock goodyears to more aggressive all terrain tire.
Did go from 285's to less aggressive 265's on a 2002 Z71 and picked 5 mpg before I got the Tahoe
And over time from what I have seen, I have to agree with Timbercruiser

I'll need a set for my 150 by fall, I've been wondering the same thing.

Depends on the truck. Daily driver.. Stock street tires.

Nice weekend and or hunting truck.. Maybe one size larger all terrain.

Dedicated hunting\ play truck\ beater.... Good size mudgrip.

I'm going from a 265/75/16 to a 305/75/16 when my old ones wear out. It's a person preference to me. Who don't like 34" tires though lol

I've got a 2010 F150 4x4. The last set I put on I went up a size. Before I did, I did research on it and found that it shouldn't affect the speedometer hardly at all. Since then, I've checked it against GPS and the worst I have found is a 1 mph difference when I get up around 75 mph. I haven't checked the fuel mileage but haven't noticed a difference in how often I fuel up. Of course now I've bought a second vehicle for myself (for work) so my truck sits a lot anyway, only being driven maybe once a week on Saturdays. The farthest I've driven it in the last six weeks is about 45 miles round trip. So, fuel mileage isn't really a concern. Actually I wish I had gone with even more of an aggressive tire, instead of the Nito Trail Grappler, since it is so seldom driven.

usually one size bigger than factory on mine. Last truck was 2wd and it helped a little with ground clearance, and also more rubber on the ground = slightly better traction. 4wd now and will probably increase by one size when it needs tires.
