Just got a call that I may get burn money this year. Its getting late in the season but I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good certified and insured burn manager in the Dale County area.It would be about 100 acres max but in several smaller tracts.

Call Southern Forestry Consultants in Enterprise & talk to Holmes. He's breaking fire lanes and doing some burning for me this month under the government funded gopher program.

If it doesn't stop raining soon there won't be much burned this year.

Thanks I will give them a call. This is the gopher program. Had applied and heard nothing so I figured no go until they called this afternoon. Hope it works out, I know my turkeys have their fingers crossed

Just be careful. Not long ago, a buddy of mine had 10 of acres of pine scorched when the fire jumped the line. Second time it's happened with same neighbor burning his land. Neighbors insurance company wasn't too happy to hear from my buddy again.

Thanks for the replies. I just found out this is for next years burning season. I am definitely having this done by a pro. My one and only controlled burn resulted in a 20 acre clear cut instead of the nice stand of big open sawtimaber I was shooting for. Fire did not kill them but the beetles darn sure did.
