One of the better years I've had. That said, I did pull the trigger on the biggest 6pt I ever layed eyes on only to have the gun misfire, but I made up for it that afternoon with my first typical 10. Plus I killed a decent 8.

Worst season ever only shot one doe so far but it's not quite over yet still got til the 22 with a rifle and then til March 2 with the smoke pole. Don't know what it is this year but just haven't seen many deer.

Not near as good as last year. Killed 1 coyote, 1 8pt. Hunted 16 times and saw deer 14. Last year I let 7 bucks walk that were all decent deer. This year, the 8 I got, was only the 2nd decent deer I saw all season. I guess it was just one of those years where there were either few deer, or I was in the wrong place at the wrong time, most of the time. I only got 1 deer on camera all gun season that was over 120 inches. We have a low, and I mean low deer density on our place, but for some reason, it was lower than normal this year based on pictures.

Not terrible. I probably hunted way more than most, but moved down from Chicago in August and all I was familiar with was Tuskegee NF from 2008 when I last lived in Auburn. Managed to snag my biggest(yet small to most 6pt) buck on public land on Cahaba with no background of the area and should have killed a much nicer one too. Then was happy to get a spike with the new bow on MLK day in Tuskegee in the same area I hunted 6 years ago. Happy to have the freezer full and able to supply some meat to family and friends. Looking forward to trying to slay some hogs until next October.

Enjoyed being in the woods and hunting with my son who killed his first deer. I saw almost no deer all year long, never shot at a deer. I'd say the deer population where I hunt is probably down by 75% from just a few years ago.

Hunted one time and killed a nice 9 point. For me, that's a fantastic season. Just hate that I didn't get to hunt with my daughter any this year.

Great season in camp and in the woods. Took 2 really nice bucks, saw 20+ bucks in the 2-4 year old age class that I did not shoot. Camera survey at beginning of year didn't pick up hardly any of these bucks, so that was a plus to actually see them. Bodes well for 2015-2016. On a tough note, lost a friend due to complications from surgery after a fall from a tree stand. I have really been shaken by this and am revamping all my safety strategies for stand hunting.

Very good season for me. I got a nice doe with my old black powder Hawkin rifle and a small 8 point chasing a doe on Feb 9th. Really good part was getting four other people a deer. For three of them it was their first. Very rewarding. Probably saw more deer than I have in years.

I hunted pretty hard this season which is a blessing in itself both duck and deer. With the warm winter and abundant acorn crop I did so so. Shot a mid 120s eight, 2 yotes, and a bobcat. Got a bunch of young deer on all of our farms and the big daddys all survived for next year too.

It was a very good season.

I got to make 3 trips to Alabama with my dad (86) and my brother. Dad didn't score (missed 2 does)but he was not feeling great this winter.

My brother and I each killed nice 8 points, mine in Dec. and his in Jan. We closed the season with a doe each on February 7th. thumbup

Worst ever for me personally.I never even took the safety off or drawed back the string. My daughter got her first deer and my son shot at and missed his first racked buck.So I would call it a success!I would still rather sit in a tree in the cold and not kill a deer than I would sit in a recliner in a warm house all day.I get cabin fever too easily.

Pretty good. Shot a doe early in the season, and a tight rack 8 point in late January; Here he is:

I also had the opportunity to meet and hunt with several Aldeer members (TruTalker, Bowhunter 84 and Daniel White). Great bunch of guys and very knowledgable hunters.

Great. Had 3 folks kill there first deer. 3 folks kill their first bucks. 5 folks kill their best buck one, father son duo got their best on the same hunt. Even though I was only able to hunt opening day we had a fantastic season. thumbup

dear kill was the same. 3 bucks and didn't shoot any does. Saw probably more deer this year than ever. I think that is the result of my partner and I not shooting any does the last couple years. We will probably bring some kids next year and let them shoot a couple does.

This season was the best I've had in a few years. It doesn't match up with many on this forum, but I managed to put a few in the freezer. Got to hunt 10 days out of the whole season between NC and Al. Shot a doe on opening day here NC with my crossbow but the yotes got to her before I did (poor choice of shot placement on my part). Hunted the opening gun hunt at Choccolocco and saw a bunch of deer, but let a number of does walk in hopes of a good buck. Thanks to a friend in Jackson county I managed to kill a knot head and a five point. I'm not one to kill small bucks but meat comes first. The small bucks were the only ones to present a shot. Oddly enough there were very few does even seen on the land we hunted.

I learned a lot this year, even with the small amount of time I got to hunt. Things are looking up for next year here in NC since a coworker has given me permission to hunt private land he owns. But best believe I'll be in a tree at Choccolocco WMA come the opening gun hunt next year. There's some good deer on public land. Just gotta put in the time to find them.

Very slow year for our club in Clarke County. I think we killed a total of 11 deer. 4 bucks & 7 does on 1400 acres. The land is 90% pine plantation that was tripled planted. The SMZ's are comprised mostly of white oaks which had a bumper crop of acorns this year. Getting to the SMZ's is a chore to say the least. The land owner has promised to cut rows in the pines to open them up but has yet to deliver. The deer are there though. Again wait til next year. Look at the trail cam pics & drool like a teething baby.

*note* We never experienced a rut this year. No swollen necks, no chasing, nothing at all. Did anyone else have that happen to them?
