Besides scarce ammo.. What are yall's thoughts on the .264 win mag??? I'm looking hard at one.

I've looked at the .264 a few times and could never pull the trigger on one. It really needs a 26" barrel and while I like a 24" a 26 is more than I want to deal with.

Do not worry with all the naysayers on Barrel issues. Those were all 60's and 70's years material issues. Today's barrels are just fine. Have fun shooting it.

If I was going to go for scarce expensive 6.5 Hot rod I personally would be looking at the 6.5-300.

I'm not gonna pick a rifle based on barrel life. Caliber is what I want and speed kills like a lighting bolt.

If the 264winmag would have been marketed right the 7mmrem mag might not would have taken off. The 7rem mag is one of the few Remington got right. They sure missed golden opportunities on others.

Ammo is not as scarce as you would think I've seen it several different locations you're not just going to walk into Walmart or Academy though it will need to be a nice hunting store or premium gun shop. As far as owning one I have never had one but it is on my list to get I have always been a fan of the 264 Win Mag

I just picked up a couple boxes of Nosler custom hand loaded 130 grain accubonds for $48 a box online.. Only a few dollars more than the same ammo in .270 or -06

You won’t find ammo at Walmart or a gas station but it’s readily available online.

I hope by mid summer I'll have enough nest egged away for the sendro in 264win. I imagine that rifle and caliber will be a tack driver

I wanted the 264win mag sendero but Remington didn't have any so settled for the 25-06 but yes that setup would be awesome

Hell rifle poor now! I purchased a Nosler m48 patriot chambered in 28 Nosler over a year and a half ago, and i've yet to shoot the thing

I bought a Winchester M70 super grade in 264 Win Mag last summer. Beautiful gun, but I have not been able to find an accurate handload yet. I'll try a couple more loads and if I can't get the accuracy I want I'll order a custom barrel for it. Will be a great gun out to 600-800 yards if I can find an accurate load.
