What do you use this time of year to call them with electric calls?

I am going to use the different yote calls and rabbit distress on my FoxPro now. When fawning time gets here, I will start using the fawn distress calls.

I haven't had time to chase the yotes yet, but I hope to get after them this weekend.

went to my cutover sunday and didnt see a thing. using my foxpro and my Slypup howler by Haydel's. Called with the BayBee Cottontail most of the day and didnt hit my pup in distress until about 10 minutes into the stand. found out that the cottontail call will call in a turkey.

I like to blow my slypup while I play my cottontail calls on the foxpro to give it a bit more dynamic.

I am wanting to start getting into coyote hunting. Which Foxpro model do you use/recommend?

I have the FoxPro Snow Crow model. I don't think they even make it any longer. But, I got it for crow hunting. It does have other calls on it as well.

It is by no means a run and gun model. I would go with one of the smaller options for yote hunting.

I have the wildfire. its the best for what all alabamians want to do. not enough prairie to need s snow crow out here. i dont think the make it anymore elk. now I think they replaced it with a few megaphone models. Steiner, Spring for the wildfire so you will have the foxbang. if you need it louder, attach an external speaker through the aux jack. If you weren't so far away I would take you with me.

jpipererp,

Thanks for the info and invitation. If I find myself up towards Birmingham, I may give you a call. I would love to go with someone that knows what they are doing.

Do you remember where you got your wildfire from?

wholesale hunter. if they have them in stock still they were only charging 220 total which included shipping and insurance.

I have family with farm land in andalusia and go down there every now and again. I can give you a holler the next time I go. I have delivered hay to pensacola from there so I know its not to bad a drive.

I tried yotes this weekend and notta. Dang crows came in like gangbusters every time I used the rabbit distress call. Guess I was hunting the wrong animal.

I was told this time of year to use some type of mating call.

how long did you wait to call. biggest mistake is not sitting still for 15-20 minutes before calling

Thanks for the good advice. Never thought about the crows tipping them off.
