Female chocolate lab looking for good home. She is up to date on shots and is microchipped. About 8 months old. She is very sweet and loves to please but also can get very excited sometimes. She is intelligent and knows how to sit stay lay down etc. I wanted her to be a dog that could roam the woods with me and track things but her attention span just isn't there for that. She has a great sniffer and if I hide a bone or treat in the yard she will sniff it out and find it quickly. She is good with cats and small dogs although sometimes she gets over excited and doesn't realize her size. She is not spayed yet but does need to be done. Completely crate trained and loves her bed in there. Any questions please feel free to ask. Located near pelham

Give her 8 more months and she will settle down.

Give her 8 more months and she will settle down. I was fixing to say the same thing but was afraid the mods would delete it. Not sure what you're expecting out of a 8 month old. Mine was a dern terror from time to time at that age. Good luck finding any eight month old pup to "roam the woods and track things" with you in the way you see fit. But im no dog training expert. Maybe some one more qualified will chime in.

I have a 6 month golden retriever my family just had to have. I want to drop him on the side of the rd some days, but then remember he is just a pup. He is huge but still a pup. I had two bird dogs a few years back and they didn't really start acting right unt they were about 2. Imagine a toddler- to adult dog. Just not gonna happen. Gonna be some tough teenage years in between. Keep working and she will probably be great. If this doesn't fit your schedule then good luck to a good home. Wish I had room for another.
Don't blame me for your bad decision-

Give her some more time. Ours is 11 years old and it took a good year for her to settle down. She's one of the best dogs I've ever had. Keep working with her. You'll be glad you did.
I came, I saw, so I killed them all......Vern

You can train an energetic dog. You can't train a dog to be energetic.
