Does the phone have to be in a cradle or can you just be in the vicinity of the unit?

That piece is sometimes placed on back of vent visor with velcro, or sometimes in the seat side, between the stuffing and seat upholstery.

You could probably get an adapter but the only plug I have is a cigarette lighter plug.

Can you post the model number? It should be on a side plate. Its essential to know which model it is; different carriers use different technologies, and Wilson has to make their boosters specific to the technology used.

I've owned several of these over the last decade and I've had to buy new ones 2 different times because I switched carriers or phones. And boosters that work for 3g will often have no effect on 4g. Its easy to look up on the Wilson site if you have the model number.

You could power this from a 12v battery source from a camp or shooting house if desired. Just buy a universal lighter plug or just strip the wires and wire it direct.

Ok I finally got to talk to the folks at Wilson wireless. They said this works with any carrier. He said it will not give you 4G but will work with new or old iPhones or other popular phones. He said if you are in a place where you have 3G do not expect it to bump you up to 4G, but if you are out in the boonies it will boost the signal and keep you from dropping calls and possibly boost you up to 3G.
