I've never understood how "isolated" areas get over populated. For instance Oak Mt State Park, (Elkhunter can tell you the exact numbers) but the deer were terribly malnourished some 10 years ago. As far as I know the deer in surrounding cities, chelsea, alabaster, hoover, ect had a healthy deer at the time.

Do does have a concrete home range? What kept them from traveling 5-10 miles or more to find adequate deer densities?
