Just for Matt Brock and Skinny. LOL The 150 rule as I've heard it called is pretty accurate. When the temperature plus humidity equal 150 it's easy to get heat exhaustion or have a heat stroke. I am climatized to the hot weather. I work in it every day. I still complain about it, but fat guys tend to do that. After church, I went out earlier with my son to make a few splits of honeybees and the temp was 88 degrees. The humidity was 53%. That's 151. It was hot but not unbearable. The bee suit adds a nice insulating effect so that does make it worse. A T'storm popped up just down the road a few miles, we could see the rain but it moved south and east of here. The humidity jumped up to the mid 80's. The temp cooled off to 86 but with a 85% humidity that put the number at 171. We worked about another hour like that and it almost took me down. When I finally got back in the truck I looked in the mirror and all the color was gone from my face. I was white as a sheet. I think another 15 minutes in that would have taken me down. After a nice cool shower, two "Big Gulp" cups of ice water and some fresh honey that I brought in, I think I'll make it, but dad gum I hate summer. I hope Skinny and Matt Brock get bit on their taint meat by a chigger tomorrow.
If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14

I am recovering from a near death experience, my math may be a bit rusty.

At 171 my vision would have been blurred too.

When I was about 25, I was mountain biking at Oak Mtn and ran out of water by the time I got back to the trail head, I had stopped sweating. I was in really bad shape. Since then, I can't be out in the sun much at all. The heat just gets to me more than it used to. Once you suffer a heat injury then you are much more likely to have a reoccurance. It's a lot like Tequila.

I had a spell once when I was pressure washing a tent top. It was a 20x40 top and i had been at it for a couple hours. It was in the high 90's and I was between some buildings with no air moving. I about got sick. It took about an hour in front of a fan and several cold Gatorades to feel better.

I was on an accident call about 4 years ago on I-65...middle of July, around 2:00 pm, 102 was the temp that day...we extricated 2 people from an overturned pickup...about 30 minutes of non stop fast paced work wearing bunker gear...when we were done, one of the EMT's on scene grabbed me and took me straight to the ambulance...he noticed I was about to have a heat stroke by the purple color my face had turned, even though I couldn't feel it...I guess the adrenaline was flowing pretty good...they ended up treating 3 of us for heat exhaustion that day...ever since then I don't do as well in the heat.
I once flirted with danger...but then danger got clingy.

I work in a steel mill where the inside temp regularly exceeds 115 degrees. It SUCKS !
