I've said this several times on here..Once your yeti is cold it will stay cold for a while..Sorry the regular ice chest cannot do that once the Ice is gone it's done..

If you drink your beer fast enough it won't matter what cooler you put it in....

Ice is definitely cheap, but fuel isn't.

Good point.....Some people will just have to buy alot of both....

on top of the $300 for the cooler you have to get a logging chain to wrap around the entire truck. and a security system to keep the dang crack heads and teenagers from snatching it off the back off the truck

I've had some Mexicans steal a 150coleman loaded with deer meat one time..But yep when I've got mine in the back of the truck, it's cabled down..

I don't know how you can make the math work for the Yeti to be a sound financial decision. However, I like them and without being boastful, I can afford one. I probably would not have gone out and bought one but it sure made me happy when my wife bought me one as a present.

I always think that it's funny that people feel the need to justify their YETI. It's just like trucks to me. Everybody knows that the base model of whatever make of truck will suffice, but some people don't get the base model, they get the one with leather, power everything, moon roof, wood grain, etc, because it's nice and you like it. Don't try to justify it, just enjoy the crap out of it.

I wonder if the prices will ever come down on these coolers. There are new brands coming out every day and you would think competition would drive the price down at least some. Wishful thinking I guess.

Not as long as people continue to pay the prices they are paying for them.

I received one of the Roadie size Yeti's as a gift from my parents last year. Never in my life would I have spent that much money on an ice chest, no matter how long it keeps ice.

That's what I don't get. The roadie is tiny. Holds maybe a 6-pack but it cost over $200!! The larger coolers I could see a justification for in certain uses but the roadie is a few drinks and that's it.

$200 / 15 beers

$13 per beer to keep 'em cold.

Hippi can drink 15 beers before I can bust open a bag of ice.
