I killed my first at 12, killed a double bearded 3 y.o. then bout quit for 7 years due to HS Baseball and laziness. Killed my next one in 2003 at 19. Sittin on 26 total birds right now +3 for others that I yelped in, only 2 limit years. Find that turkey hunting is better for me as I age. I tried to imitate videos too much as a younger fellow. All that callin ain't neccesary to kill'em. I am satisfied with 4-5 meaningful gobbles on a hunt way more than one that gobbles at everything but don't come. I am as fired up this year as I've ever been.

I've been a handful of times over the years with no luck...But plan to go after them a little harder this season...Been practicing with the calls (my wife loves this) ever since deer season ended...Hope to get number 1 this season...

Good luck, its hard some times and persistence will pay off eventually. It took me a long time to get my first one.

Many blown opportunities and great mornings will lead up to a proud moment when it finally happens.

Ever once in awhile you will find one that just is wanting you to shoot him.

Do you want to hear him gobble, or do you want to kill him.

Layne what ever you do don't go with Kyle he has the worst turkey hunting luck possible... he has been after them since he was 8 or so and still hasn't killed one. Maybe he will let big brother call one in again for him..

No doubt!! I went with him once last year and all we did was walk for 5 hours...Didn't even hear a turkey!

Last year was my first for Turkey hunting. Killed it with my bow! Am going to try for my first with a shotgun this year. Am a 37 year old newby to turkey hunting!

Other things being equal, it is the man who shoots with his heart in his bow that hits the mark.

I was introduced to the elements of turkey hunting before I could walk...my grandfather was one of those guys that would rather miss a turkey than kill a deer...he always talked to me about turkey hunting but he died before I ever got to go with him...my interest faded in turkey hunting after that until 2007 when I just decided to go one morning...went out and got one to gobble at my pathetic attempt of a yelp, been hooked ever since

I once flirted with danger...but then danger got clingy.

you still got a key and pemit, right? Ain't no way I would give in if I were you.

Where did you hunt to get screwed because I was screwed at a club in tuscaloosa county on hwy 69....we were a member of a club that was supposedly 3000 acres and the game warden informed me otherwise ...come to find out the property was only 400 acres with 14 members and 450 apiece
