Has anyone ever hunted in Oregon? I am going there this summer and looked up what would be in season and it looks like only cougars are in season while I am there so I don't know if we will go hunting and fishing or just fishing.

My sisterinlaw lives there so yes the cougars will be out and will pounce on any male that looks like he may feed them for awhile

If you've never done it, you're in for a treat. You'll have fun. Take lots of pics.

Not sure what area you will be in, but a trip to Astoria would be worth the drive. This is where the Columbia meets the Pacific and it is one of the most beautiful areas I have seen in the lower 48. I will have to find out how far away that is from the cabin.

^^correct. July 30th a few years ago. Portland - High in mid 90's. Astoria - high in the low 70's and lows in the 30's. That's the coast for sure. Usually not much rain Aug-Sep while elk hunting. In fact, we got shut down a few days for fire danger last year.
