my minn kota foot control broke yesterday, thinking of getting a bow mount hand control, i dont have a big deck and a foot control is awkward in my boat. looking at the motorguide hand control. any one have any opinions on the hand control. Im hoping to cut back on space and have a little more precise control.

I have a Minn Kota hand control because I am in the same situation you are (not a lot of room up front). Also, I use the boat for hunting, and I find that a hand control is easier to use when picking up decoys. I really like it.

The only thing I need to get is a handle extension, because I do have to bend over when standing on the front. With the extension I can angle the handle up and be good.

This is the one I have, and it pushes my 17ft tracker really good.

Hand control bow mount is the way to go. My experience has been that you need to go with the saltwater models if you can spend the extra money.

We will burn that bridge when we get there

Sure thing - also if your bracket is already a Minn Kota, I would suggest the same. The foot control and the hand control use the same bracket from what I understand.
