Been reading on Sunn Hemp. Anyone ever heard of it/ used it? Reading a lot of good stuff on it.

Be careful! You'll get a stray seed every now and again that won't be "sun" hemp! Lol! I know of several fields of it that were planted and somehow there turned out to be a few buds growing!

This happened to a friend of mine that planted it here in fl. When he examined the seed bag,it said it originated in Africa,so you can imagine it ain't a squeaky clean operation. Deer still browsed on it though

I planted it, the deer browsed it pretty good. I doubt you have to worry about getting the wrong seed. Its in the same family, but completely different.

Time to plant it now. It's about 120.00 dollars for a fifty Lb bag. You can broadcast it or plant it in rows. It requires bush hogging about ever 30 to 60 days.Recomended planting rate is about 15 lb to the acre. It's also a good soil builder. You can plant it up to depths of about 1.5 inches deep. Does better in drain able type soils.
