I haven't gotten to hunt the past two mornings. It was beautiful here this morning but my daughter woke up at 1:30 with the dreaded stomach virus. I have some business in the morning and won't get to hunt but I'll be back at it Saturday.

I hunted all day again and didn't lay a eye on a bird. Heard one at daylight about a mile away.
Getting tired, made myself sleep in today and spend time with the boys before I get mad.

I secured a 700 acre lease in southern Tennessee today, just in time for the opener next weekend. I'm hoping they'll be more cooperative than these North Alabama birds have been so far and I can get us some more points.

Missed yesterday at a whopping 30yds, then couldn't do anything with any birds for the rest of the day. Hunted this AM and watched a gobbler top a hen from across a cutover. As you can guess, i couldn't pull him away from that slut. Going back out in a bit...it may be bushwhacking time...

This has been a jacked up season. Every bird I hear gobble is off the club. Then I see tracks everywhere but they are always one step ahead and totally silent. You guys have any tips?!?!

Well guys sorry I ain't been posting but it's been a rough year for me. The birds have been hammering but I can't do nothing with them. This is a new lease I got this year and it's been a steep learning curve. Maybe it won't be long and I can get one posted up. In the meantime y'all keep laying em down

Dont feel bad. Hunted 9 days and only heard birds two days. Only seen birds two different days. I did work one this morning for a little bit, but I thought from the start he was just going to be one of those that wont commit. Had my son with me so it was great, just harder to move the way I need to with him. Being stealthy is not his strong-suit.
