Guys guys guys come on now. I simply posted a picture to a social media site there is no reason for all this uproar. Yes I shucks a bird at 76 last year it was a mistake I was fortunate enough that I did take the turkey but it's not something I'm out there looking to do I am looking to kill a bird at two steps but as well as y'all know that does not happen on every occasion. So before all y'all crucify me try to get to know me a little better because I might not be the evil guy the all think I am.

I wonder how many people on here criticizing this guy about ethics and the thrill of the chase are the same ones begging and pleading for corn to be legalized. Cause lets face corn just covers up the lack of woodsmanship.

I'd lots rather somebody shoot one over a pile of corn and get to carry him home and eat him than to shoot into a wad of turkeys at 70 yards and end up feeding a couple of them to the coyotes.

Now. This guys has me shooting in pile of turkey's. What a fool. I will have know I've lost one turkey in all my turkey days. Now I've gotten bird fever and missed but only lost one. And far as the 20 yard comment. 50 is twenty where I hunt. I mainly public birds where your elite attitude doesn't work. You don't know me and I hope you never will. So go back to your bean counting and don't forget the milk on the way home. See ya Biff! Lol

Just an FYI since you haven't been around long enough to know apparently, the guy your calling a fool mainly hunts public ground as well and I'd put his skills against anyone's. Looks like the only one thats a fool on here is you.

L8hunter I don't know if you were talking about me or not but I wasn't talking about you specifically. I'll apologize anyway. I just think turkey hunters gimp up a lot more turkeys than they realize and most of those "misses" really ain't misses.
I didn't know you were getting it done on public ground that kinda changes things..
Like bowtarist said I hunt public ground a good bit but I ain't never killed one on it yet. I'm not a quitter tho I'm gonna get one even if I have to fix me up a 100 yard gun.

Maybe I was misunderstood actually I was criticizing all the other people who had something to say about him shooting 70 yards. In no way did I mean to call him a fool or question his woodsmanship I was questioning all the die hard corm hunters woodsmanship. I was simply stating that the people that were criticizing most probably need to check there ethics before criticizing a guy that patterned his gun at 70 yards.

And I am glad some people would rather should game over a corn pile than wound. But I would rather kill game fairly and not introduce disease from too many animals eating in one place and going off and dying cause they are rating others animals poop with their corn.

I'm also primarily public land.... Like 99% public for the last 5 years. And I can honestly say 20 yds has always been 20yds.... I'm pretty positive on that one.

I'm not going to get in the debate on what's ethical or not, BUT killing a turkey at 70 yds (assuming you have a GOOD pattern at 70) is about the same thing as ambushing a bird on a field. Not saying I've never done it, but it's not something I brag about. Not ashamed but I don't get the same gratification as I do when I'm on my butt and I call one in to with in 40 yds.

Im one criticizing him. And im fully against the legalization of corn.

As far as the other comments, no I dont hunt public land often. Im blessed enough not to need to fight the idiots. And by idiots I mean the guys that are out the thinking they gotta beat another man to a bird, so when he hangs up at 70 I better shoot because someone else may kill him tomorrow.

Im ok with letting the turkey and even other hunters claim a victory every once in a while.

All the fun ends when you pull the trigger anyway. He aint guna gobble anymore.

Turkeys be damned.

I have hunted public land for about 7 years and never shot at one at. 70 yds my dad would come out of his grave and beat me.

Would walk over a naked woman to get to a gobblin turkey!

See what you been missing out on? If you'd just take up turkey hunting you'd get 6 extra weeks of this every year. laugh
