I don't have a picture of it, but this is a description.
It is a giant single steel wheel, about 30 inches in diameter and about 6 inches thick and it drags at about a 45 degree angle to the tractor.
It will sink up to the axle just because of the sheer weight.
That thing looks like it weighs 800 pounds!
It is made for breaking new ground and weeds don't wrap around it.
It peels a giant swath of dirt and simply lays it over.
Afterwards, you can run your set of discs over it without all the weed-wrap filling up the discs.
I have never seen one before or since, but it fits a 3 point hitch.
No plow I've ever seen did as much work in as little time as that one, but you could tell it was very old.
If I ever see another one, you can bet I will try to buy it.
It has grease fittings for lubing the bearings. nope ,,, it don't work on a three point hitch , least the ones i've seen don't . Frankie, you are probably right in that they weren't originally designed for 3 point. Let me clarify and say the one I saw being pulled could have been refitted because the one I saw was being pulled by a relatively modern tractor, but the actual steel wheel was ancient looking but it had grease fittings (added?) for the bearings.

We've owned a disc plow for a Super C since the 60s. It has 2 discs on it and does a great job. Unfortunately, it take a half a day for me to get it on the tractor, so I don't use it often.
After the disc plow had been around for a while, somebody developed one to fit a 3 pt hitch. The 2 disc plows are pretty common, but I wanted a 3 disc plow for years to use for fire lanes. RobertD found me one in Brewton and I drove down there one Saturday to buy it. It was more than my tractor could pull, and I regretted buying it until I later happened to buy a bigger tractor. It will turn over some ground.
We also had a similar plow that we pulled behind an International H. You just hooked it to the drawbar and kept a rope that attached to a mechanism that would lower or raise the plow. It had 5 discs, a metal rear wheel like the ones in the pictures on this thread, and a truck tire on one side. In the lifted position you could ride down a road with the plow lifted up; pull the rope and it would start plowing.
I was probably the most ingenious piece of farm equipment I've ever used, but it was worn out and I hated working on it. I hated the H too, it was also worn out. One of the first things I did on the farm after my father died was to sell both of them.
All the labor of man is for his mouth, and yet the appetite is not filled.
