Well maybe you'll have good luck with them either way. There is supposedly an American chestnut still living in the talledega national Forrest. There are still some native trees growing, but when they reach maturity the blight kills them. If it is producing fruit that is pretty cool, but it is also possible it could be crossed with a chinese. Fur, my dad bought some from the wildlife group last week so you may just have to call them. I have several of the 15/16's that are in the fridge that I am going to pot soon. Hoping they will make it and be blight resistant as not all of them are.
