Well I shot a monster Thursday morning.. He hunched up and stumbled forward behind a brush pile where I couldn't see him & I was sure he was dead. Let him lay an hour & went down to check him out only to find a pile of hair about 2 feet wide & 5 feet long. Looked for him all day Thursday & til lunch Friday. Not a single drop of blood. Guess I'll keep an eye out for buzzards. Only thing I can figure is that the bullet lodged in the off side shoulder & didn't exit.

Another guy in my club had the same situation Thursday morning. No exit wound & not a drop of blood. Luckily he was in a hardwood bottom & found his deer.

Man its a sick feeling. I guess we all have to suffer through it if we hunt long enough.

Weird thing is that it was flat calm & he was on the edge of a cutover. He came out of some thinned pines that you can see thru real good. I can't figure out how in the world I didn't see him get away or at least limp away.
