Hunt not far from Carrollton. Seeing more scrapes, but not much activity on Sat. I think about a week before you see them running hard.

Thanks, for the input guys. Fired up can't wait to get back out there. Jnall I hunt right outside of Carrollton also our property is off Ray Bass road. The road Pickens Academy is on. Good luck to all and Merry Christmas. I was in a bow only club on some of the Junkin land down Ray Bass Road about 12 years ago. Shaw do you think that is also true for the Fosters area? Not sure, I haven't seen any chasing down this way. I haven't hunted down here in years. Back in the early 90's the rut used to hit the first week of December. I heard one guy say that it was rocking over around Moundville right now, and that's just across the river.

I'm ready to back down. I'm off for 5 days after new years and hoping the hunting will be a lot better than its been so far during the season.

I've been there once a few years ago and I know that it's 5 or 10 miles from Aliceville. We ate almost every night at a big old plantation looking home that had a buffet. It was good eatin!!
