I use a grunt call just about every hunt.

I grunt using my throat. I haven't found a store bought call that sounds as good. I rattle with shed antlers that I've found. I've had my best luck grunting in deer this time of year. I don't blind grunt, though. I wait till I see one and try to call it in range.

I have always called young bucks in this time of year with a grunt call. I have had great success grunting blind or when I can see them. I have had limited success with a snort wheeze but have seen it work on mature deer when I could see them when they first start roaming looking for does. I have had no success with rattling

Had more success years ago before every tom dick &:harry started using them..A though did run a guy off the property line once.. They planted on the property line one year, so I jacked up a tree about 80 yards off the line one morning.. Let me tell u after blowing through that grunt like a tuba for 10mins, the guy walked out the shooting house & they never replanted again! grin
