Welcome to the wonderful world of bowhunting. As suggested above, see if you can draw and shoot while seated. Welcome as well! I always heard that if you can sit in a chair and draw while holding your feet off the ground it means you are not trying to pull too much weight. When I was a youngn' I used to shoot an 82 pound Pearson Spoiler. Now all I have to pay for it at 53 is a very touchy shoulder. Hope you have a great season and that it bites you as hard as it has bitten me. I never rifle hunt unless some health problem keeps me away from the bow. BTW getting shook up is the fun part!

They rarely come out like they do on TV. I try to stand as much as possible. Quartering away is much better that quartering to you. You also want to visualize the exit point of the arrow, when trying to determine your entry location.

Nice buck, and nice bow I have the stinger 3g in skullworks camo, and love it. Looks almost identical to mine except the split limbs.

I have found that if you can watch them for a minute and they aren't going anywhere you can kinda get your nerves. I have never rushed a shot since my first deer. shot him back a little and tore me up worse than the feeling of getting a shot. the next time out I got shook up pretty good and just let the doe walk off. when she came back I felt a bit more confident and was able to steady my shot.
Sitting shots always help but most of my stands now require me to stand to get a shot from the limbs I leave up. I like the added coverage and like to leave just a few good holes to shoot out of.
