56mm has its place....If you want low light performance. I like them while hunting a bean field, large food plot, etc.

That being said, something in the 40mm range coupled with a good set of binoculars is what I can be found with most of the time. Just have to remember to turn the power down on a 40mm variety scope to get a 7mm exit pupil... which is all the human eye can use anyway.

If you aren't shooting over 100 yards at dusk or in dark timber you probably don't need a 56mm.
