I remember the first armadillo I saw up here was about 12 yrs ago and nobody believed me. The last 5 years they are dying all over the roads up here. I've killed several way up in the mtns the last couple of years, I guess their here to stay. Those things sure sound good coming around the mtn on a frosty morning. I wonder what has brought them our way?

I may be wrong, but every where I have seen armadillos I have seen fire ants. They have to tie in together somehow.

Teach, we've had fire ants here since the mid 80's, but we've only had dillos for the past 8-10 years. I've still not seen a live one on our place, but have seen plenty of the holes they've dug all over the place.

Ironically, I flattened one on my drive in this morning. It was dark, and I didn't see him until he was under my front tire. Right in front of a bud's house too.
Life is a journey. Make sure and bring plenty of Beer.
My luck has been so bad lately, it could be raining pussies and I'd catch one with a dick broke off in it.

I am surprised it has taken this long for y'all to get em in Jackson county. It was about 25 years ago that I saw my first one in Winston county. He must have been an advanced scout cause I didn't see another one for two or three years after that.
Lead, follow or get the HELL outa the way!

They use to have a dilo tournament at sure shot in Alex city. I think prizes were for heaviest and most. Sure is fun shooting them with a 22.
Would walk over a naked woman to get to a gobblin turkey!

I haven't worked up the nerve to try it but I work in Africa with a bunch from Trinidad. They swear that tattoo (their word for armadillo) is the best "bush meat" that there is and is highly prized. They singe it over a fire to remove the hair and make the skin turn loose from the shell. They then gut it and chop the meat up with a meat cleaver. They leave the shell and bones in the meat. They curry it but they claim it would be good any way you want to cook it. Any body ever eat one here? Where's a Cajun when you need one! I don't eat that chit! Dayum! But I'm only a half breed so check with marshmud. It may go good with some rice.

I wish I had a dilo problem, instead I have a skunk problem.

I put a serious stalk on one the last afternoon of deer season 3-4 years ago. There was a buck making some huge scrapes down in the swamp behind our sign in shed. Well I was easing down the pipeline and I could hear something that sounded like a big buck making a scrape I had my stand off my back done took my boots off creeped about a 100 yards to come up on te loggkng road below him I about froze to death and when I stepped out from behind the tree it was a dang armadillo.
We will burn that bridge when we get there
