well the streak continues...this makes four counties I have hunted this week and not heard a gobble. But today in Sumter county I did call up one for a friend. Saw him on a powerline in the rain and called him to within 9 yds. strutted a good bit but not a single gobble

I have hunted mostly every day since 2000 and been huntin turkeys since 98. This is without question the worst gobblin I have ever heard. Still managed to kill a couple and get my buddy one but it has not been as much fun as normal. Nothin compares to setting up on a vocal gobbler

Congrats. This is the way I remember turkey seasons starting years ago. I actually prefer it. This way most of the wanna-try-it turkey hunters give up before it gets good. grin
They will be rite soon.
